40th day

Today I was invited to attend the 40^th day. It is a tradition of the Orthodox church after the 40^th day of the death of a loved one. Olga who is a strong Christian and her mother who is not a believer (yet) invited me to come and enjoy a meal, and to honor papa's death. It was a great opportunity to talk to Mama about death from the perspective of the Bible. Nina (mama) had invited her close friends Alexei and Ryea. And as I began to share scriptures from the Bible Ryea became so interested as if she had never heard the scriptures regarding Jesus. Unfortunately for mama they seemed to overwhelm her and she turned to the vodka for comfort. But Olga spent some more time with Ryea in the kitchen and she repented and turned to Christ. It was so exciting for me to see Olga share the Lord with her. The door is open to continue to meet with Nina, pray that she would find her comfort in the true and living God.
